Typical Stainless Steel Characteristics
Stainless steel is the most commonly used metal in castings for the food and the medical industry, due to its toughness and anti oxidising qualities.
Benefits of stainless steel include:
- High corrosion resistance
- Toughness at cryogenic “very low” temperatures
- High work hardening rates
- Good hot strength
- Increased ductility
We commonly cast all of the metal alloys found in the market today, along with an increasing track record of exploring and delivering the casting of previously uncastable materials.
Most commonly used metals in our orthopedic investment castings are cobalt chrome and stainless steel, and we are able to finish these within the USA.
